It is with a heavy heart that my family has to announce that our father, Coach Mike Farley, died on the morning of Tuesday, August 28th in Mesa, Arizona. My mother, Rae, who has been a rock for our family, was by his side when he peacefully passed. Know that we share in the grief of our loss, but we are so comforted by an outpouring of support and love for him. From social media to letters to calls, the countless lives that he has so positively affected is not only a true blessing for each of us, but a testimony of how one person really can make a difference in the lives of so many.

We are heartbroken over Coach Farley’s passing. For both of us as college students, he truly changed our lives with the love and guidance he gave us. We are both so blessed to have had someone so wise and amazing consistently invest his hope, faith, time and love in cultivating our best qualities during our critical college years – – and continuing to be a cheerleader for both of us as we went out beyond UW-River Falls to spread our wings and chase our dreams. His influence is at the very foundation of who we each are as educators, family members, and people.
We are forever grateful for all that Coach Farley did and was for us, and we will continue to strive to become all that he believed we could be: full of intellect, integrity, compassion, and good humor.
We love you, Coach Farley! May you rest now in peace.
